Who are these resources intended for?
All of the following resources, along with the relaxation recording, were originally created for my Lightning Process and EFT clients. I have found that those of my clients who develop a daily practice using some of these techniques are able to further enhance the positive changes in their health and lives. It doesn't have to be a big commitment, just a few minutes a day can have a very positive effect.
Through this section of the website, this information is now available to anyone else who finds it helpful. These techniques can be beneficial to anyone who is looking to improve their health and quality of life. These practices are not intended as a stand-alone cure for ME/CFS, but when used in conjunction with The Lightning Process and EFT, along with a balanced diet, they help to create a more complete recovery strategy.
Are you ready to fight or fly?
In Myalgic Encephalomyelitis - ME, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome - CFS, the part of the brain that triggers the fight or flight response can become over stimulated. See the section on the "Physiological catch 22" for more details. This response to stress and fear is quite natural for short periods of time. But when the system is held in this state for extended periods it becomes debilitating. Adrenaline and cortisol, over time, have a toxic effect on the system. This process plays a key role in maintaining ME/CFS.
Why should I relax when I have no energy?
Any treatment which reduces the Stress Response will improve chronic fatigue syndrome and many other
conditions

The relaxation, energy and breathing techniques described in this section are designed to calm the mind and body and encourage healing. These techniques have the effect of triggering the parasympathetic nervous system (PSNS). When activated, the PSNS has the opposite effect to the stress response. These actions can be summarized by the phrase "rest and digest" (in contrast to the "fight-or-flight" of the sympathetic nervous system). This process reduces adrenaline and cortisol production, aligning bodily systems, encouraging relaxation, regeneration and quality sleep.
Also included are details of gentle exercises to stimulate energy and boost the immune system.
